Newton School, a certification-driven technical training platform, is set to secure new funding from Prateek Boob, co-founder of PhysicsWallah, as part of an extended Series B fundraising round. This new capital injection comes after a hiatus of nearly four years for the Gurugram-based firm.

Details of the Funding Round

The board of Newton School has approved a special resolution to issue 72,738 Series B1 preference shares at a price of Rs 3,437 each, aiming to raise approximately Rs 25 crore, as per regulatory documents reviewed by Startup Superb.

Overview of Newton School’s Offerings

Established as a contemporary neo-university, Newton School provides industry-relevant technology education programs, including its global B.Tech in Computer Science and AI, with a strong emphasis on practical learning and preparation for the job market.

Valuation and Stake Details

According to estimates from Startup Superb, the investment positions the company at around Rs 1,055 crore (roughly $117 million). Following this share allocation, Boob is expected to own a stake of about 2.37% in the firm. Queries directed to Prateek and Newton School have yet to receive a response, but updates will follow if they do reply.

Funding History

To date, Newton School has raised close to $32 million, which includes a $25 million Series B round led by Steadview Capital in April 2022, a period during which its valuation increased seven-fold. Prior to this, the company had raised $5 million in Series A and $1.1 million in seed funding.

Recent Financial Performance

In the last fiscal year ending March 2025, Newton School experienced a 61% year-on-year revenue growth, reaching Rs 38.86 crore from Rs 24 crore in FY24. Concurrently, its losses have decreased by 40%, arriving at Rs 29.66 crore in FY25.

Prateek Boob’s Personal Investment

Although this investment by Prateek is made in a personal capacity, it coincides with the ongoing expansion efforts of PhysicsWallah in the school education sector. The company has recently acquired the foundational assets of Tender Heart School and is committing $10 million to its Vidyapeeth School initiative, which operates in over 39 educational institutions.
