Pratilipi, a leading digital storytelling platform, has successfully raised $20 million in its Series E funding round, spearheaded by Jungle Ventures. The funding comprises $12 million in primary investment along with $8 million derived from the sale of secondary shares.

Details from the Funding Round

In a recent media release, Pratilipi’s co-founder and CEO Ranjeet Pratap Singh revealed that the primary investment came from two individual investors. During the secondary share transaction, Qiming Venture Partners partially exited by liquidating approximately 75–80% of its shares, whereas Shunwei Capital completely exited by selling all of its shares.

Impact of the New Funding

This latest funding round marks a significant development for the Gurugram-based enterprise, coming after a hiatus of nearly four years. Singh also mentioned that Pratilipi’s valuation has diminished to $100 million, a drop from $265 million in the last funding round.

Pratilipi’s Diverse Offerings

Pratilipi focuses on producing both text and audio narratives in various Indian languages, including Hindi, Gujarati, Bengali, Marathi, and Malayalam. The platform presents a wide array of content types, which encompass audiobooks, podcasts, comics, web series, and films.

Funding History and Investor Base

As per various reports from startup data intelligence platforms, this Gurugram-based firm has amassed over $100 million in funding thus far. Key investors include prominent names such as Krafton, Nexus Venture Partners, Omidyar Network, and Tencent.

Financial Performance

Pratilipi has demonstrated growth in revenue from operations, which surged to Rs 57.8 crore in FY24, escalating from Rs 35 crore in FY23. With stringent expense management, the company has also seen its net loss shrink by 62%, down to Rs 58.13 crore in FY24 from Rs 152.6 crore in the previous fiscal year.

Future Plans

Looking ahead, Singh has indicated that Pratilipi has aspirations to initiate an initial public offering (IPO) in January 2026, contingent upon the prevailing market conditions.
