ReelSaga Raises $2.1 Million for Mobile Entertainment Growth
ReelSaga, a mobile-first entertainment startup, has successfully obtained $2.1 million in seed funding, spearheaded by Picus Capital. Participation in this funding round included ITI Growth Opportunities Fund, Nazara Technologies, 8i Ventures, Waveform Ventures, Warmup Ventures, Bombay54, Bharat Founders Fund, along with several angel investors.
Funding Utilisation for App Enhancement
The funds will be allocated towards improving app development and creating high-quality, localized content aimed at mobile users in India, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East regions.
Founders and Vision
Founded in 2024 by Shubh Bansal, Shanu Vivek, and Ritesh Pandey, ReelSaga offers a platform presenting vertical, short-form dramas lasting 1–2 minutes per episode. This innovative approach combines storytelling with quick, binge-worthy content. The founders, who previously co-established Truebil (later acquired by Spinny), aim to transform mobile entertainment through hyper-personalized content driven by data science and product innovation.
Emergence of Microdramas as a Preferred Format
Microdramas, a popular format in China with over 5,000 series produced annually, are becoming a mainstream entertainment option. ReelSaga intends to bring this trend to India by providing localized, emotionally engaging short episodes.
Launch of ReelSaga’s App
The ReelSaga app is now live, signalling its entry into India’s dynamic digital entertainment landscape.
