ReelSaga, a mobile-first entertainment company, has successfully secured £2.1 million in a seed funding round that was predominantly led by Picus Capital. This funding event also featured investment from ITI Growth Opportunities Fund, Nazara Technologies, 8i Ventures, Waveform Ventures, Warmup Ventures, Bombay54, Bharat Founders Fund, along with several angel investors.

Founded in 2024 by Shubh Bansal, Shanu Vivek, and Ritesh Pandey, ReelSaga provides a platform that features vertical, short-form dramas with episodes lasting between 1 to 2 minutes. The startup fuses storytelling with quick and binge-worthy content.

The founders, who were previously behind Truebil (which was later acquired by Spinny), aspire to revolutionize mobile entertainment through hyper-personalized content, leveraging data science and innovative product development.

Microdramas, a trendy format in China that sees over 5,000 series produced annually, are becoming a popular entertainment alternative. ReelSaga intends to bring this phenomenon to India with localized, emotionally resonant short episodes.
