E-commerce shipping and logistics platform Shiprocket has made an impressive debut on the stock market on Wednesday, August 19. The company’s shares began trading at Rs 131 on the NSE, reflecting a 35% premium over its issue price of Rs 97. Investors enjoyed a solid gain on the first day of trading, as the shares were priced at Rs 131 on the NSE and Rs 130 on the BSE.

Shiprocket’s IPO Details

Shiprocket set its IPO price band between Rs 92 and Rs 97 per share. The public issue, valued at Rs 1,617 crore, was available for subscription from August 12 to August 14 and attracted robust interest from various investor categories. This issue comprised a fresh issue of shares together with an offer for sale (OFS) from existing shareholders. Initially, Shiprocket aimed for a larger IPO of approximately Rs 2,342 crore but subsequently reduced this to Rs 1,617 crore.

Investor Demand and Subscription Rates

The IPO garnered significant interest, being subscribed 99 times by the close of the bidding period. Qualified institutional buyers (QIBs) dominated the demand, subscribing to their allocated portion 123 times. Meanwhile, the non-institutional investor (NII) segment was subscribed 89 times, and the retail segment witnessed 46 times subscription. Additionally, the employee portion received a subscription rate of 55 times.

Shiprocket’s strong market debut comes amid a trend where Indian startups are increasingly examining investor interest in public markets. The company has positioned itself among a growing number of new-age enterprises seeking the IPO avenue for capital infusion and providing exit options for existing investors.

Financial Performance

In FY26, Shiprocket experienced a 24% year-on-year growth in operating revenue, amounting to Rs 2,024 crore. However, the company’s net loss expanded by 6.8% to Rs 79 crore during the same period.
