Proactive AI Startup Sol Secures $4 Million for Innovative Solutions

Proactive AI startup Sol has recently emerged from behind the scenes with a substantial funding of $4 million. This round, led by General Catalyst and Nexus Venture Partners, also saw contributions from DeVC, Peercheque, and Kunal Shah. The funds will primarily be allocated towards research and development as well as market introduction initiatives. The research and development budget will focus on large language model processing and tooling expenses, acquiring talent, and collaborating with clients globally.

Founded in August 2025 by Anish Karan, Prateek Srivastava, and Ranjith Nair, Sol is developing an AI assistant designed to pinpoint commitments within emails and efficiently manage the necessary tasks to achieve them, all while ensuring users maintain control over the final results. The application is capable of undertaking various responsibilities including research, document creation, presentation development, scheduling meetings, and drafting responses. For example, a commitment to send an analysis can initiate research and document production, whereas a request to align with an individual can result in a meeting being arranged.

Sol targets its offering towards professionals inundated with large quantities of emails, including entrepreneurs, executives, and individuals in the sales, marketing, consulting, recruiting, and agency sectors. By identifying commitments and their context directly from emails, Sol eliminates the need for users to manually create tasks or continually prompt an AI assistant.

The startup functions within a secured computing environment and can utilize a browser to navigate across various tools. Presently, it boasts a library of over 100 skills tailored to manage tasks associated with different commitments. Users have the authority to approve any actions before they are sent, scheduled, or shared.

Indian agentic AI startups have secured approximately $60 million within the first 4.5 months of 2026, a notable decrease compared to the $144 million raised in 2025. Other startups in this sector include Composio, which acquired $24 million in Series A funding to assist AI agents in executing workflows across software platforms, and Kapture, which garnered $10 million in a pre-Series B round for its enterprise agentic operating system.
