Solarium Green Energy Limited has declared the launch of its 1 GW solar module manufacturing plant in Ahmedabad, aligning with its strategy for backward integration. This announcement was shared through a regulatory filing.

The facility has been established with an estimated investment of approximately Rs 90 crore, excluding working capital, and is equipped with fully automated, cutting-edge manufacturing lines. It is intended to produce high-efficiency crystalline silicon solar PV modules, including large-format G12 modules with capacities up to 725 Wp, employing advanced technologies like TOPCon, half-cut, and bifacial cells.

Impact on EPC Project Costs

Solar modules account for nearly 50 to 60% of the total costs within EPC projects. This new plant is anticipated to decrease Solarium’s reliance on external suppliers, simultaneously enhancing supply chain efficiency and accelerating project timelines. Additionally, this development is expected to bolster margin growth thanks to increased in-house usage.

Revenue Potential

Operating at around 85 percent capacity, the facility could yield annual revenues of over Rs 1,000 crore, contingent on market dynamics and module pricing. Solarium plans to utilise the plant for both its internal needs and external sales targeting EPC contractors and other B2B clients.

Milestone in Growth

Chairman and Managing Director Ankit Garg stated that the facility was completed in under nine months, marking a significant milestone for the company’s growth and enhancing its capabilities throughout the solar value chain.
