Solgram Raises $1 Million for Premium Grocery Expansion

Solgram, the premium grocery platform based in Gurugram, has successfully raised more than $1 million in a pre-seed funding round led by DSG Consumer Partners and Saama Capital. The funding round also saw participation from hospitality entrepreneur Kapil Chopra. This financial support comes shortly after the company’s launch, highlighting strong investor confidence.

Investment Utilisation

The newly acquired funds will be directed towards expanding Solgram’s cold-chain infrastructure, enhancing its technology framework, cultivating sourcing partnerships, and scaling its operations within the National Capital Region (NCR), as stated in a recent press release.

About Solgram

Founded by Shashank Shekhar Sharma, Solgram is a premium grocery platform specializing in fresh produce, dairy, meats, seafood, and other temperature-sensitive items. The company is dedicated to maintaining product quality through a comprehensive temperature-controlled supply chain.

Operations and Offerings

Solgram’s operational scope encompasses sourcing, quality assessment, storage, fulfilment, and delivery. The company features temperature-controlled stores designed with specific zones for various product categories, utilising sealed thermal packaging and a dedicated last-mile delivery system.

The product range includes fresh produce, dairy, meats, seafood, bakery items, gourmet pantry goods, and innovative food brands. Additionally, Solgram provides a health-oriented shopping category called Mindful Mode, showcasing products that feature cleaner labels, nutritional information, and details about their origin.

Currently operational in Gurugram, Solgram has plans to broaden its reach across the NCR before venturing into other Tier-I cities in the forthcoming months. The company aims to establish consistent operational density within specific clusters prior to expanding into new locales.
