OYO Appoints Sonal Sinha as CEO of G6 Hospitality
OYO, a global travel-tech leader, has appointed Sonal Sinha as the Chief Executive Officer of G6 Hospitality, the American motel chain acquired recently from Blackstone Real Estate. This acquisition, finalised in December last year, has incorporated 1,500 franchised hotels in the US and Canada into OYO’s collection, significantly increasing its footprint in North America.
The combination is estimated to produce a Gross Booking Value of around $3 billion, with G6 Hospitality—which manages the well-known Motel 6 and Studio 6 brands—expected to contribute $1.7 billion. The unification of G6’s portfolio with OYO’s current operations is anticipated to yield considerable synergies and propel growth in international markets.
Sonal Sinha’s Background and Impact
Sinha became part of OYO in 2015, making a significant impact across diverse financial sectors. As the Chief Financial Officer for International Business, he spearheaded efforts to increase business margins and set up essential financial control systems, covering areas such as tax, accounting, and reconciliation.
He will continue to report to Gautam Swaroop, CEO for International at OYO. These strategic changes in leadership underline OYO’s ongoing commitment to fortifying its international footprint while fostering a more agile organisation.
