Swiggy’s Leadership Expansion in Foodtech and Quick Commerce

Swiggy has significantly broadened its leadership team within the Foodtech and quick commerce sector by introducing three new executive positions for its Instamart and Food Marketplace operations. Himavant Kurnala has been named the Chief Growth and Product Officer at Instamart, while Nitesh Garg steps in as the Chief Technology Officer for the same division. Saurav Goyal has accepted the role of Chief Operating Officer for the Food Marketplace.

Kurnala has been steering the product strategy for Instamart since 2024 and subsequently took on responsibilities for growth and brand marketing. In his new position, he will supervise Growth, Marketing, Analytics, and Product functions.

Garg has an extensive tenure at Swiggy, spanning more than seven years, and most recently held the title of Senior Vice President, where he was responsible for engineering efforts related to Instamart and New Initiatives. With this latest appointment, he will manage technology operations for Instamart.

Goyal, who joined Swiggy in 2020, has played various roles in Business Finance for both Food and Instamart, in addition to Driver and Delivery Product and Operations. As the COO of the Food Marketplace, he will also oversee the Food Customer Experience, while maintaining leadership in Driver and Delivery operations.

These leadership appointments come in the wake of significant organisational changes at Instamart. Nandita Sinha, the former CEO of Myntra, has been designated as the new CEO of Instamart effective from August 3, succeeding Amitesh Jha, who has departed to explore other opportunities. Sinha’s appointment follows the exits of several high-ranking executives, including COO Ankit Jain and CBO Hari Kumar. Jain has recently joined Nykaa to head its quick commerce segment, Nykaa Now.

Earlier this year, Swapnil Bajpai was promoted to oversee Swiggy’s Dineout and Scenes business. Sidharth Bhakoo remains the Chief Business Officer of the Food Marketplace, whereas Gautam Swaroop serves as the Chief Business Officer of Instamart.
