Teachers’ Venture Growth (TVG), the late-stage venture and growth investment division of Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, has initiated a follow-on investment in Darwinbox, a renowned human capital management (HCM) platform. This action marks TVG’s second funding round for Darwinbox after their initial stake in the company in 2025. The financial specifics of the investment have not been publicly disclosed.

Overview of Darwinbox

Established in 2015 by entrepreneurs Jayant Paleti, Chaitanya Peddi, Rohit Chennamaneni, and Vineet Singh, Darwinbox presents a mobile-centric, cloud-based HCM platform that allows organisations to efficiently oversee the entire employee lifecycle. This includes stages such as recruitment, onboarding, talent management, and retention.

Continuous Investment in Product Development

The firm has maintained a commitment to enhancing its HCM product offerings, concentrating on improving workflow automation, optimising HR operations, and delivering tailored employee experiences.

Launch of Darwinbox Cortex

In August, Darwinbox introduced Darwinbox Cortex, an AI-driven HCM platform. This new product was piloted with notable customers, which include Fortune 1000 companies such as Visteon and Transcarent. Cortex integrates AI capabilities to provide enhanced intelligence, context, and execution within the Darwinbox platform, being developed with partnerships from technology leaders like Microsoft, Slack, and Glean. This platform aims to extend AI functionalities across the various applications and workflows utilised by employees.

Darwinbox claims to serve over 1,400 organisations, impacting approximately 4.5 million employees worldwide. The company has experienced an impressive 70% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) over the last five years, with ongoing expansion into significant markets including the US, Middle East, India, and Southeast Asia.
