Temple’s Valuation Surges to $375 Million

Temple has achieved a remarkable milestone, seeing its valuation skyrocket to $375 million after a secondary share sale. This healthtech startup, established by Deepinder Goyal, has also initiated its inaugural employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) liquidity programme.

Valuation Milestone

As reported by Moneycontrol, this latest secondary transaction values Temple at $375 million, nearly double its previous valuation of around $190 million. Prior to this, the startup had successfully raised $54 million at the earlier valuation.

Innovative Wearable Technology

Temple is developing an innovative forehead-worn wearable device designed to assess the body’s metabolic state in real time. Currently available in early access, this device is being marketed as a wellness product and is anticipated to be launched commercially within the next year, following further validation and product enhancements.

Founder’s Vision

After stepping down as the CEO of Eternal, Goyal established Temple with a vision to focus on wearable technology aimed at improving health and wellness. The company has been actively expanding its team and enhancing its product development efforts in anticipation of a wider commercial launch.

Employee Stock Ownership Plan

Temple has recently introduced its first ESOP liquidity programme, aligning with a trend among startups to provide liquidity to their employees this year. Data from Startup Superb indicates that nine startups have collectively repurchased ESOPs worth over $270 million in 2026 thus far. Companies such as BrowserStack, Innovaccer, CoinDCX, Unacademy, Tractor Junction, Emversity, Cashfree Payments, Plum, and Kratikal are included in this list.

Recent ESOP Buybacks

In recent developments, travel fintech startup Scapia also made headlines by announcing an ESOP buyback valued at Rs 20 crore, reflecting the growing trend of employee stock liquidity in the startup ecosystem.
