The Wedding Company, a technology-focused wedding planning and fulfilment platform, has successfully raised $2.75 million (around Rs 25 crore) in a seed funding round spearheaded by Wellingdon Advisors LLP. Participation also came from LVX, Tremis Capital, Synergy Capital Partners, as well as angel investors like Vivek Mathur and Rahul Garg.

Previously, the Bengaluru-based startup had received $1 million in a pre-seed funding round, co-led by LVX and Tremis Capital, with additional involvement from other investors, including Wakefit co-founder Chaitanya Ramalingegowda, Ajith Pai, and Arash Ferdowsi, in July of the previous year.

Enhancing Wedding Services

The funds will be used to enhance its wedding services catalogue, develop a strong category management function, and grow its vendor partner network to standardise service delivery at a larger scale, as stated in a press release by The Wedding Company.

A Comprehensive Wedding Planning Platform

Co-founded in 2023 by Pawan Gupta and Rahul Namdev, The Wedding Company is a technology-driven, all-inclusive wedding planning platform that provides solutions across venues, décor, catering, photography, and logistics. With over 2,000 verified vendors in numerous cities, it aims to deliver seamlessly managed weddings for couples and families both in India and internationally.

Streamlining India’s Wedding Industry

The startup seeks to simplify India’s complex $130 billion wedding sector by consolidating essential wedding services, such as venues, décor, photography, catering, and logistics, under one roof. The platform is dedicated to offering a premium customer experience for individuals navigating the wedding planning journey.

Rapid Growth and Future Goals

The Wedding Company has reported a remarkable increase in its service order value, growing from Rs 51 crore in FY25 to Rs 115 crore in FY26, marking a growth of 125%. The company is aiming for Rs 350 crore in service orders in FY27, underpinned by an anticipated 1,500 new wedding bookings.

Competing startups in this space include Meragi, Weddingz.in, Wedding Cloud, Shaadilogy, and Shaadi Baraati Event Management, among others.
