ThinkMetal Secures Rs 27 Crore Funding for Advanced Metal Manufacturing

ThinkMetal Boosts Funding for Advanced Metal Manufacturing

ThinkMetal, a startup focused on advanced materials and manufacturing, has successfully raised Rs 27 crore in a funding round spearheaded by IAN Alpha Fund. This round also saw participation from 3i Partners and existing investors. The funds will be allocated to product development, enhancing research and development capabilities, and promoting adoption among industrial clients.

Innovation in Precision Metal Manufacturing

Founded by Sabyasachi Ghosh and Arushi Sharma, ThinkMetal is pioneering indigenous technologies aimed at refining precision metal manufacturing. The startup’s platform integrates advanced materials, manufacturing techniques, and industrial systems to decrease production time and lessen reliance on imported technologies.

Current Offerings and Technological Advancements

The company’s flagship product is SistemT1, a metal additive manufacturing system engineered to create precision metal components. This system employs ThinkMetal’s proprietary FuseX metal filament technology. In addition to this, the company is broadening its materials library and advancing its in-house capabilities to process various new materials.

Serving Diverse Industries

ThinkMetal caters to manufacturers in sectors such as aerospace, defence, space, automotive, and electric mobility. The company has shifted from developing technology to engaging in enterprise pilot projects and is now moving towards larger-scale commercial implementations. IAN Alpha Fund has noted that ThinkMetal has submitted over 17 applications for intellectual property.

Efficiency and Cost-Effectiveness

The startup asserts that its technology can produce high-value precision metal parts at a pace up to 10 times faster and at a cost that is half of that of traditional methods.
