Thrustworks Dynetics: Advanced Propulsion Systems Innovation

Thrustworks Dynetics, a company focused on propulsion systems, designs and develops sophisticated rocket engine systems and subsystems for commercial purposes. Recently, it secured Rs 7 crore in seed funding, led by Jamwant Ventures, with participation from Piper Serica, SINE-IIT Bombay, and other investors. The funding will be directed toward scaling the Integrated Rocket Facility, advancing research and development in cutting-edge propulsion systems, and enhancing testing capabilities in response to the growing global demand for commercial space access, as noted by Thrustworks Dynetics in their press release.

Company Overview and Development

Founded in 2023 by Manan Joshi, Kalyani Shinde, and Vinith Shenoy, Thrustworks Dynetics is actively engaged in the design and development of liquid rocket engine systems and their associated software and testing infrastructure.

ANYA: The Liquid Rocket Engine Platform

Based in Pune, the company is working on ANYA, a liquid rocket engine platform, alongside proprietary software and a robust testing infrastructure. To facilitate rapid and adaptive testing, they have developed a Mobile Rocket Engine Test Bed, which enables efficient hot-fire testing.

Goals and Objectives

Incubated at SINE-IIT Bombay, Thrustworks Dynetics has a vision to enhance propulsion technology by creating modular, scalable, high-performance engines, along with Micro-combustors and High Thrust High Impulse (HTHI) Engines. The startup is working towards establishing an integrated rocket facility that combines design, manufacturing, and testing processes, thereby ensuring quicker development cycles and improved operational agility.

Collaborations and Competition

Thrustworks Dynetics is collaborating with prominent space and aerospace organisations, including ISRO, IN-SPACe, Bharat Forge, Godrej Aerospace, and INOXCVA. The company faces competition from other players in the market, such as Ursa Major.
