Uber Train Ticket Booking: A New Travel Option in India

Uber has introduced a train ticket booking option on its app in collaboration with the AI-driven travel platform ixigo. This feature empowers users to book train tickets, verify PNR status, and link their first and last-mile journeys through Uber, consolidating these functionalities into one platform. This rollout is part of Uber’s strategy to enhance its intercity travel services in India.

Within this partnership, ixigo will supply its technology for train ticket booking and post-booking assistance, while Uber will integrate these train journeys with its other mobility services. Already established at railway stations throughout India, this new capability expands Uber’s offerings beyond just connecting passengers at stations to now include train ticket purchases.

Comprehensive Mobility Portfolio

With the introduction of train ticket booking, Uber’s mobility portfolio in India has grown to include motorcycles, autos, cars, metro services, intercity cars, intercity buses, and now train ticketing. Uber began its services in India in 2013 and has since expanded to more than 225 cities.
