X-47 Venom Electric Motorcycle Launch by Ultraviolette Automotive
Bengaluru-based electric mobility startup Ultraviolette Automotive has introduced the X-47 Venom electric motorcycle along with the innovative 100V VX-100 platform. The motorcycle is available for an introductory price of Rs 2.65 lakh, with deliveries expected to commence in November 2026. This X-47 Venom marks the first motorcycle to utilise Ultraviolette’s new VX-100 architecture, which aims to enhance performance, energy efficiency, charging speed, and safety, while also minimising vehicle weight.
Bookings for this motorcycle will open on October 22, and the introductory pricing will be applicable to the first 5,000 customers. The vehicle will be sold across India through Ultraviolette’s UV Space Stations.
The X-47 Venom boasts an IDC-certified range of 343 km, with a peak power output of 30 kW (40 hp) and a maximum speed of 155 kmph. It accelerates from 0 to 60 kmph in just 2.7 seconds and from 0 to 100 kmph in 5.9 seconds. The motorcycle also delivers an impressive torque of 550 Nm at the wheel and has a kerb weight of 180 kg, which is up to 20 kg lighter than the previous generation platform, as stated by the company.
This motorcycle supports 12 kW DC fast charging and is equipped with a 1.6 kW onboard charger. Ultraviolette claims this is the only electric two-wheeler in India that can support 12 kW DC fast charging.
CEO and co-founder of Ultraviolette, Narayan Subramaniam highlighted that the X-47 Venom embodies these advancements, merging unique design with enhanced engineering capabilities and technology that elevate the riding experience.
The VX-100 platform incorporates the company’s SRB-11 battery technology, UV LIGHTFURY motor, and a next-gen motor control unit. Ultraviolette emphasised that its battery technology delivers up to 20% higher energy density and double the cooling performance. An improved thermal management system is engineered to dissipate heat 50% faster.
The battery pack includes a pyro-fuse that isolates the electrical circuit within microseconds if a critical fault occurs. It works in conjunction with a battery management system that monitors voltage, temperature, and current on a cell level, as well as individual cell fuses.
Additionally, the motorcycle features a 77 GHz rear radar system as part of the company’s UV Hypersense technology. This system facilitates blind-spot monitoring, lane-change assistance, overtake alerts, and rear-collision warnings.
Other noteworthy features comprise a seven-inch TFT touchscreen, cruise control, park assist with a rear-camera feed, Mappls-integrated navigation, and connectivity via the VIOLETTE A.I. system.
In addition to the motorcycle, Ultraviolette has launched B-MAX, a reusable rider safety vest designed to enhance safety features. The company claims that this vest provides 86% force attenuation and can be reused up to five times.
Niraj Rajmohan, CTO and co-founder of Ultraviolette, shared insights into the motorcycle’s engineering, stating that the VX-100 architecture, battery technology, lighter motor, and motor control unit were developed as an integrated system to enhance power delivery, efficiency, thermal performance, and safety.
The modular VX-100 platform is also designed to accommodate various battery capacities, vehicle configurations, and power levels for Ultraviolette’s future product offerings.
Founded in 2016 by Narayan Subramaniam and Niraj Rajmohan, Ultraviolette focuses on developing electric vehicle platforms and battery technologies. The company has obtained backing from investors such as Lingotto, TDK Ventures, Qualcomm Ventures, Zoho Corporation, TVS Motor Company, Yali Capital, and Speciale Invest. Ultraviolette has expanded its reach to 20 countries across Europe and plans to debut the X-47 Venom in Europe on November 3 at EICMA 2026 in Milan, Italy.
