Vayudh Secures $10 Million for Defence Technology Advancement
Vayudh, a defence technology startup, has successfully raised $10 million in a funding round spearheaded by Dharana Capital. This round attracted attention from notable investors, including Deepinder Goyal, the founder of Zomato, Ajay Aggarwal, the Managing Director of Action TESA, along with Sumit Jalan, LetsVenture, and Navam Capital. Previously, Florintree Advisors had already made investments in Vayudh.
The capital raised will be allocated to enhance research capabilities, expand manufacturing processes, and accelerate deployment timelines for Indian defence forces.
About Vayudh and Its Innovations
Founded in 2016 by Tanmay Bunkar, Anuj Barnwal, and Sarita Ahlawat, Vayudh is dedicated to designing drone platforms tailored for battlefield intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance tasks. The startup has been innovating in swarm drone technology and has accumulated an impressive tally of over 300,000 hours of autonomous flight time.
Recent Developments and Achievements
In 2023, Vayudh was awarded the iDEX Grant, aimed at developing India’s smallest surveillance drone. Recently, the startup launched Atri, an advanced nano surveillance drone, showcasing its commitment to cutting-edge technology.
All drones are manufactured and tested within India, highlighting Vayudh’s focus on creating UAVs specifically designed for defence and security applications.
