Veefin Group, through its subsidiary Estorifi Solutions, has made a strategic acquisition of TradeAssets, a Dubai-based firm specialising in digital trading of trade finance assets. This acquisition aims to enhance and optimise financial operations for institutions on a global scale, as highlighted in a recent company statement.
Strategic Integration for Comprehensive Solutions
The integration of TradeAssets into Veefin Group’s ecosystem is set to enrich the range of solutions available to global financial institutions. The aim is to create an all-encompassing platform that addresses every facet of trade finance, from origination to distribution and more. Raja Debnath, Chairperson, Co-founder and CEO of Veefin Group, noted that the company plans to continue its acquisition strategy to expand the ecosystem, thereby providing improved services to banking and corporate clients.
Enhanced Offerings and Collaboration Opportunities
This acquisition not only enhances integrated offerings, which will allow banks to manage trade finance assets within one cohesive platform but also promotes better collaboration with financial institutions. The integration is expected to foster cross-selling opportunities, expanding market reach and capabilities.
The acquisition marks a significant milestone for Veefin, representing its fifth purchase in just eight months. This development brings the total number of companies under the Veefin Group umbrella to ten.
The TradeAssets Platform and Market Potential
TradeAssets operates within a vast market comprising over 10,000 banks, with estimated secondary asset sales reaching $1 trillion and primary asset origination of $2 trillion. Lakshmanan Sankaran, Co-founder and Chairman of TradeAssets, emphasised the critical state of the trade finance industry, where banks are increasingly seeking smarter methods to manage liquidity, distribute risk, and tap into global opportunities.
Future Prospects and Deal Statistics
By integrating with the Veefin Group, TradeAssets aims to leverage its expertise in trade asset distribution to develop a robust platform. This collaboration seeks to empower banks to efficiently originate, syndicate, and manage their trade finance portfolios, ultimately reimagining how financial institutions create value from their trade finance operations.
Over the past three years, TradeAssets has successfully handled more than $4 billion in transactions, establishing connections with over 120 banks across 35 countries.
