Venture Catalysts Raises Rs 150 Crore for Expansion

Venture Catalysts, a leading multi-stage venture investing platform, has successfully raised Rs 150 crore (approximately $18 million) through a balanced mix of primary and secondary shares. This funding will be directed towards enhancing leadership teams, launching new funds, and developing AI-driven tools for both due diligence and limited partner reporting, as reported in their press release.

Valuation and Investment Structure

The primary transaction has positioned the company with a valuation of around $200 million post-money, while the secondary transactions were conducted independently among existing shareholders and new investors.

Company Overview

Established in 2016, Venture Catalysts engages in deal-by-deal syndication through angel alternative investment funds (AIFs) and operates a venture capital division that creates Category II AIFs in collaboration with fund managers and institutional anchors. It is important to note that the valuation pertains solely to the primary investment in Venture Catalysts, not the funds it oversees.

This funding round attracted participation from public market investors, corporates, and family offices. Notable new backers include Ashish Kacholia, Authum Investments, Shah Rukh Khan’s family office, Aishwarya Rai, Karthik Sundar Iyer from Twentyfirst Century Management Services, Hardik Patel of Finquest, and the LNB Group.
