Vutto: The Used Two-Wheeler Marketplace
Vutto, a rising name in the used two-wheeler marketplace, has successfully secured $7 million (approximately Rs 61.4 crore) in its Series A funding round. This round was spearheaded by RTP Global, with continued investment from Blume Ventures, an existing supporter of the company. Before this financing effort, the Delhi-based startup had garnered $1 million in seed funding from Blume Ventures and various angel investors.
Expanding Operations in the Two-Wheeler Market
The funds raised will be directed towards broadening Vutto’s presence within the Delhi NCR region, venturing into new cities, and enhancing vital operations such as supply chain management, refurbishment processes, and customer service capabilities, as stated in a press release from Vutto.
About Vutto’s Services
Founded in 2024 by Rohit Khurana and Sitaram Ankilla, Vutto functions as a comprehensive platform where users can buy and sell used two-wheelers. The marketplace allows individuals to explore certified vehicles online, schedule test rides at its physical showrooms, and purchase two-wheelers that come with a six-month warranty. Additionally, it offers assistance with paperwork, insurance, and financing options.
Market Overview and Performance
Market research indicates that approximately 9 million pre-owned two-wheelers were sold in India during FY24, resulting in an estimated revenue of $3.8 billion. Vutto has reportedly sold 1,500 vehicles within its first year of operations and currently operates three showrooms in Delhi. The company asserts that vehicles listed on its platform usually sell within 12 days.
Partnerships and Competition
Vutto has established collaborations with banks and financial institutions to facilitate the sale of repossessed two-wheelers. In a competitive landscape, Vutto faces challenges from other startups. Notably, BeepKart recently ceased operations after nearly five years, while CredR shut down in October of the previous year. Additionally, Cars24 exited its Moto division, highlighting the volatility of this sector.
Other significant players in the used two-wheeler marketplace include Bikewale, BikeDekho, and RoamPrime, contributing to the industry’s dynamic competition.
