VyomIC Secures Rs 14 Crore for Advanced LEO-based PNT Solutions

VyomIC, a deep-tech startup, has successfully raised Rs 14 crore (approximately $1.6 million) in a pre-seed funding round. This round was spearheaded by Speciale Invest, with contributions from BYT Capital and DeVC. The funding will be allocated towards the enhancement of its LEO-based Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) payload, facilitating a spaceborne demonstration mission, and expanding team recruitment and business development initiatives, as indicated in a recent press release.

About VyomIC and Its Mission

Founded by Lokesh Kabdal, Vibhor Jain, and Anurag Patil, VyomIC is dedicated to constructing satellite constellations that provide highly precise, secure, and sovereign Positioning, Navigation, and Timing services from Low Earth Orbit. The company’s goal is to empower the forthcoming generation of autonomous systems, secure infrastructures, and mission-critical operations with centimeter-level precision in positioning and nanosecond-level accuracy in timing, all without dependence on foreign navigation networks like GPS or GLONASS.

LEO-PNT Technology Integration

VyomIC’s LEO-PNT system merges onboard atomic clocks, encrypted signal layers, and AI-driven orbit determination algorithms to deliver real-time, high-integrity navigation. This is particularly beneficial in urban, contested, or GNSS-denied environments. Its signal architecture is tailored to be resistant to jamming and spoofing, making it a formidable solution for sectors like defence, finance, aerospace, and telecommunications.

Technology Advantages

The Chennai-based company strives to deliver signals that are resistant to spoofing and jamming, addressing the vulnerabilities of existing systems such as GPS and GLONASS. With the deployment of LEO satellites, the system promises high precision, quicker convergence, enhanced signal strength, and superior coverage in urban and signal-compromised areas.

Future Plans

VyomIC intends to deploy a comprehensive constellation aimed at providing global users with secure, real-time navigation and timing services.
