Wellbeing Nutrition Revenue Surge in FY26 Amid Losses

Wellbeing Nutrition, a clean-label nutraceutical brand, has experienced a remarkable increase in revenue, more than doubling its earnings in FY26 while its losses expanded 2.4 times to Rs 92 crore. This significant financial shift comes in the wake of pharmaceutical giant USV acquiring a 79% stake in the company.

As per the financial documents reviewed by Startup Superb, Wellbeing Nutrition’s revenue from operations escalated to Rs 244 crore in FY26 from Rs 118 crore in FY25.

About Wellbeing Nutrition

Established in 2019, Wellbeing Nutrition is active in the nutraceutical sector, offering a diverse range of products including vitamins, minerals, protein, collagen, omega supplements, and various wellness items. The company markets its products via its own website, online platforms, and brick-and-mortar retail channels, extending its reach to the US, UK, and UAE.

Revenue Sources and Product Portfolio

Product sales served as the only avenue for operating revenue during the fiscal year. The company’s product lineup encompasses collagen supplements, oral strips, marine collagen, slow-release capsules, and effervescent tablets.

Expenditure Analysis

On the expenditure side, advertising and promotional costs surged by 78.7%, rising to Rs 109 crore in FY26 from Rs 61 crore in FY25, which accounted for nearly 32% of the company’s total expenses. Additionally, material costs more than doubled to Rs 106 crore during the same period.

Other costs, such as freight, commissions, legal fees, and overhead expenses, elevated Wellbeing Nutrition’s total expenditures to Rs 338 crore in FY26, a sharp increase of 115.3% compared to Rs 157 crore in FY25.

Financial Implications

Consequently, Wellbeing Nutrition’s losses expanded to Rs 92 crore in FY26 from Rs 38 crore in the previous fiscal year, despite the robust revenue growth. At the unit level, the company spent Rs 1.39 to generate every rupee of operating revenue in FY26. The return on capital employed (ROCE) was recorded at -425%, while the EBITDA margin stood at -34.43%. The company’s current assets reached Rs 91 crore at the close of FY26.

Acquisition by USV

In February 2026, USV, a leading pharmaceutical company, made the decision to acquire a 79% stake in Wellbeing Nutrition valued at Rs 1,583 crore. This transaction also allows for either partial or complete exit opportunities for current investors.

This acquisition stands as one of the significant transactions within India’s direct-to-consumer (D2C) sector in 2026. In the same month, Mumbai-based consumer goods firm Marico purchased a 60% stake in the plant-based protein startup, Cosmix, at an equity valuation of Rs 375 crore.

The acquisition aligns with a broader trend of consolidation in the consumer sector, with large FMCG corporations absorbing digital-first brands to enhance their portfolios. Last year, Hindustan Unilever acquired a 90.5% stake in the skincare brand Minimalist, reaching a pre-money valuation of Rs 2,955 crore.
