Weskill Secures Pre-Seed Funding to Revolutionise Upskilling

Upskilling platform Weskill has successfully secured an undisclosed amount during a pre-seed funding round, achieving a valuation of Rs 40 crore, backed by high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs) and strategic investors. The newly acquired funds will be directed towards accelerating the platform’s growth and improving its innovative AI-driven learning ecosystems, as stated in a recent press announcement.

Founding Vision and Growth Plans for Weskill

Founded in November 2023 by Prashant Prakash Dubey, Weskill seeks to tackle the increasing skill gap that exists between conventional college education and the rapidly changing industry requirements. By utilising artificial intelligence, Weskill aims to eliminate the disconnect between academic curricula and real-world job expectations, offering career guidance and tailored training modules that make upskilling more effective, accessible, and aligned with industry needs.

Partnerships to Enhance Learning Experience

Weskill emphasises high-quality experiential learning through partnerships with leading universities such as EICT and IIT Guwahati, as well as various multinational corporations (MNCs). These collaborations facilitate the delivery of industry-centric training to undergraduate students and early-career professionals, ensuring they acquire the necessary skills to thrive in corporate settings.

Innovative Tools for Career Development

In addition to its upskilling initiatives, Weskill has introduced an AI-powered career counselling and mock interview platform, claiming to have empowered over 170,000 students in their career development. The platform is dedicated to transforming the educational landscape, equipping students, and shaping a workforce adept in in-demand skills.

Ambitious Goals for Future Impact

Over the next two years, Weskill aims to significantly increase its reach, aspiring to upskill and guide over 600,000 students throughout India. The platform is focused on integrating AI, adopting innovative learning methods, and establishing strategic collaborations within the industry.

Weskill competes with notable players in the upskilling sector, including global competitor Coursera, as well as Scaler and Simplilearn, among others.
