Independent verification platform You Care Lifestyle (YCL) has successfully raised $1 million in a funding round jointly led by Luke Coutinho and Narendra Firodiya. The funds will be utilized to enhance the processes involved in the verification and authentication of products, as well as to support and invest in new clean brands, facilitating their growth and building consumer confidence, as stated by YCL in a press release.

Established this year, You Care Lifestyle operates as an independent verification organisation within the health and wellness sector. The company focuses on confirming the safety, purity, and quality of products and services across a variety of categories, which include groceries, food, nutraceuticals, beauty, personal care items, pathology labs, and additional lifestyle-related offerings.

The Mumbai-based startup aspires to develop a reliable third-party verification platform that tackles significant challenges such as mislabelling and misinformation. It aims to encourage a behavioural change towards informed consumer decisions. YCL is dedicated to empowering brands to prioritise health-oriented products while ensuring the highest quality standards. Additionally, the organisation aims to inspire consumers to make informed choices about authentic products.

Expanding Offerings and Onboarding Brands

You Care Lifestyle plans to broaden its offerings and intends to collaborate with a wide range of brands. The company is aiming to test and verify approximately 90-100 brands in the food and cosmetic sectors by the end of 2025.

The startup asserts that it has engaged with 37 products, of which 24 have passed third-party lab tests successfully. Currently, 18 products are available on the website. These products will be recognised by the unique ‘Pink Tiger Stamp’—an independent verification symbol indicating approval and quality assurance of the ingredients after thorough testing.
