Zetwerk Sues Ayr Energy for Breach of Confidentiality
Zetwerk has initiated legal proceedings alongside its U.S. affiliate, Unimacts Global LLC, against Ayr Energy, claiming that Ayr Energy has improperly used confidential business information and trade secrets. The lawsuit has been submitted to the U.S. District Court of Delaware, where Zetwerk alleges that Ayr Energy exploited its sensitive manufacturing data, business insights, and operational methods for its own advantage.
Details of the Allegations
According to the lawsuit, Ayr Energy’s conduct has led to significant commercial damage and breached confidentiality and data-sharing agreements established between the two firms. Zetwerk asserts that Ayr Energy actively sought and recruited multiple former executives from Zetwerk who were privy to critical company data.
Specific Accusations Against Ayr Energy
The lawsuit also specifies that Anirudh Reddy Edla, a past senior executive in Zetwerk’s energy division, founded Ayr Energy in 2024 while still under the employment of Zetwerk. This revelation raises serious questions about the integrity of the data handled by both entities.
Zetwerk is pursuing approximately $100 million in damages as a result of these alleged violations.
About Zetwerk and Ayr Energy
Zetwerk has established a worldwide manufacturing network, catering to clients in the industrial and infrastructure sectors across various industries. Ayr Energy, supported by General Catalyst, focuses on the development and production of energy equipment and components for both renewable and industrial uses.
As the litigation unfolds, Zetwerk and Ayr Energy have refrained from making any public comments regarding the case.
Insights from a startup data intelligence platform indicate that Zetwerk has successfully raised over $800 million through a combination of equity and debt financing. This includes a $70 million Series F funding round led by Khosla Ventures in December of the previous year, which placed its post-money valuation at $3 billion. Although the company has yet to reveal its financial performance for FY25, it has reported a 26% rise in gross revenue, reaching Rs 14,436 crore in FY24.
