Pine Labs has disclosed its financial performance for the first quarter of fiscal year ending March 2027. The fintech giant recorded a 20% increase in its operational scale year-on-year, while profits soared to Rs 20 crore, marking a fourfold rise during this period.

The revenue generated from operations reached Rs 737 crore in Q1 FY27, up from Rs 616 crore in Q1 FY26, as per the financial statements obtained from the National Stock Exchange (NSE). The primary source of this revenue was the company’s digital infrastructure and transaction platform, which expanded by 14.9% to Rs 499.12 crore in Q1 FY27. Additionally, the issuing and acquiring platform experienced a growth of 31%, amounting to Rs 237.8 crore during the same timeframe.

Pine Labs also gained Rs 29 crore from non-operational activities, bringing its total income to Rs 766 crore in Q1 FY27, in contrast to Rs 653 crore in the same quarter of the previous year. On a sequential basis, the revenue of the Bengaluru-based company saw a slight increase of 5% compared to Rs 701 crore in Q4 FY26.

Major Financial Insights

Employee benefits constituted the largest section of expenses for Pine Labs, representing 36.8% of total expenditures. Notably, this cost diminished by 7.9% to Rs 268 crore in Q1 FY27, down from Rs 291 crore in Q1 FY26. Conversely, the cost of materials consumed climbed by 39% to Rs 107 crore, while transaction-related expenses surged by 61.7% to Rs 97 crore. Depreciation expenses increased by 12.3% to Rs 73 crore, and other miscellaneous expenses rose by 10.9% to Rs 183 crore throughout the quarter.

In total, the company’s expenditures grew by 10.6% to Rs 728 crore in Q1 FY27, compared with Rs 658 crore in Q1 FY26. The rapid rise in revenue compared to expenses enabled Pine Labs to boost its profit four times, reaching Rs 20 crore in Q1 FY27, up from Rs 5 crore in Q1 FY26.

Operational Efficiency

At a unit level, Pine Labs incurred Rs 0.99 to generate one rupee of operating revenue during Q1 FY27, compared to Rs 1.07 in the same quarter of the previous year. As of 3:05 PM, shares of Pine Labs were trading at Rs 151 each, which positioned the company’s market capitalization at Rs 17,188 crore.
