Shark Tank India Season 5 is set to commence on 5 January 2026, presenting an exciting mix of both familiar and new investors on Sony Entertainment Television and SonyLIV. The show retains its original format, where startups go through a selection process to pitch their innovative ideas, with only a handful making it to the televised episodes. Viewers can anticipate entrepreneurs who are looking for investments and valuable guidance from the esteemed panel.
Meet the Investor Panel
The panel features a blend of seasoned and new ‘Sharks’ from diverse sectors. Hardik Kothiya, the founder of Rayzon Solar, is one of India’s youngest billionaires, boasting an estimated net worth of ₹3,970 crore. Kanika Tekriwal, who established JetSetGo Aviation, has a valuation of ₹420 crore.
Additional members include Pratham Mittal, the founder of Masters’ Union and Tetr College of Business, whose net worth remains undisclosed, and Ritesh Agarwal, the founder of OYO, recognised as the panel’s wealthiest Shark with a staggering ₹16,000 crore. Kunal Bahl and Viraj Bahl, established investors from Season 4, report net worths of ₹900 crore and ₹200-300 crore, respectively.
Returning Investors and Their Impact
Amit Jain, co-founder and CEO of CarDekho and InsuranceDekho, makes a return with a net worth of ₹2,900 crore. Anupam Mittal, known for Shaadi.com, alongside Aman Gupta from boAt, has been part of the show from the beginning, with current net worths of ₹185 crore and ₹720 crore, respectively.
Vineeta Singh from SUGAR Cosmetics is valued at ₹300 crore. Namita Thapar of Emcure Pharmaceuticals and Peyush Bansal from Lenskart have net worths estimated at ₹640 crore and ₹610 crore.
New Additions to the Panel
Joining the panel this season are Varun Alagh, CEO and co-founder of Honasa Consumer Ltd, whose net worth stands at an impressive ₹5,900 crore, and Mohit Yadav, co-founder of Minimalist, whose company’s acquisition of ₹2,955 crore showcases its substantial growth.
Shaily Mehrotra, CEO of Fixderma India, also joins the panel with her company, valued at ₹1,500 crore in 2025. Season 5 promises to bring an array of pitches and engaging investment conversations.
