New At-Home Diagnostic Service

The newly introduced service allows for sample collection from patients’ homes within 60 minutes, providing test results in under six hours for routine examinations. This service is currently operational in six cities: Bengaluru, Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Mumbai, and Hyderabad, encompassing over 450 PIN codes.

Investment and Growth of Orange Health Labs

This announcement follows the lead investment from the Amazon Smbhav Venture Fund in Orange Health Labs’ $12 million funding round in December 2024. Established in 2020, the startup has garnered support from notable investors including Accel, General Catalyst, Bertelsmann India, and Y Combinator, raising over $50 million thus far.

Amazon Medical Offering

The diagnostics initiative will be integrated into Amazon Medical, which also provides medicine delivery via third-party sellers and online consultations with doctors. Same-day medicine delivery is accessible in 23 cities.

By entering India’s $15 billion diagnostics sector, Amazon will face competition from well-known entities such as Thyrocare (part of PharmEasy), Tata 1mg, Dr Lal Path Labs, Apollo Diagnostics, Redcliffe Labs, and a variety of regional competitors.
