Anticipation Builds for Apple’s September 9 Event: Unveiling the iPhone 17 Lineup and More Surprises

Upcoming Apple Event: iPhone 17 Series and More

Apple has officially announced that its next hardware event will take place on 9 September at 10 a.m. PT. During this event, the iPhone 17 series is expected to be revealed, along with new models of the Apple Watch and AirPods.

This year marks the beginning of a three-year redesign cycle for the iPhone, leading to an anticipated foldable iPhone by 2026. For the time being, the excitement surrounds the iPhone 17, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max, with speculation about a new addition, the iPhone Air.

The iPhone 17 is rumoured to feature a 6.3-inch display with a refresh rate of 120Hz and a 24MP front camera, representing a significant upgrade from its predecessor, the iPhone 16. It might be available in new colours, including purple and green, with pricing starting at approximately $800.

The iPhone 17 Pro is expected to showcase a new rectangular camera bar on the back and may switch from titanium to aluminium, aiming to reduce costs and weight. The starting price is anticipated to be around $1,050, with fewer storage options compared to the previous model. The Pro Max could be introduced with a larger battery housed in a slightly thicker design, with a price point suggested to be $1,250.

Among the most talked-about rumours is the introduction of the iPhone Air, set to replace the Plus model. This device, with a thin profile of just 5.5mm and a 6.6-inch display, would become Apple’s slimmest phone ever. Reports indicate it could launch at around $950 and be available in black, silver, and light gold finishes. However, it may come with some compromises, such as a single rear camera and possible limitations on speaker performance.

In terms of wearables, Apple is likely to introduce the Apple Watch Series 11, Ultra 3, and SE 3. The Ultra 3 could feature enhancements such as quicker charging, 5G connectivity, satellite capabilities, and possibly monitoring for blood pressure and sleep apnea.

The AirPods Pro 3 are also expected to make an appearance, featuring a new design, touch-sensitive controls, smaller earbuds, and a slimmer case, powered by the latest H3 chip for improved active noise cancellation and adaptive audio features.

Apple may additionally unveil new accessories, including the “TechWoven” iPhone 17 Pro cases complete with crossbody straps, which will take the place of the discontinued FineWoven line.

The event will be available for live streaming on apple.com and through Apple’s YouTube channel.
