Apple Watch SE 3 has been unveiled by Apple, boasting an Always-On display, the new S10 chip, improved sleep scores, wrist temperature sensing, retrospective ovulation estimations, accelerated charging, rugged cover glass, and 5G cellular capability. Preorders commence today, with availability in stores starting from Friday, September 19.
Apple’s vice president of Apple Watch and Health Product Marketing, Stan Ng, indicated that the Apple Watch SE provides an excellent introduction for users beginning their Apple Watch journey. It combines remarkable health, fitness, safety, and connectivity features at a fantastic price point. Ng noted that with additional health capabilities, the Always-On display, and rapid charging, it is thrilling to consider how Apple Watch SE 3 can assist more individuals globally in leading healthier and more active lives.
Key Upgrades
• Always-On display driven by the S10 chip, allowing users to view time and notifications without having to lift their wrist. • Durable glass that is four times more resistant to cracks, created using Apple’s Ion-X process. • Battery and charging: Offering up to 18 hours of usage on a single charge, now featuring fast charging that provides up to eight hours in approximately 15 minutes and reaches about 80 percent in around 45 minutes. • 5G cellular capability for quicker downloads and improved connectivity when paired with a carrier plan.
The SE 3 introduces a sleep score feature for a clear overview of sleep quality, based on insights from leading sleep organisations and trained on millions of nights of data. Additionally, it includes wrist temperature sensing for enhanced insights through the Vitals app and retrospective ovulation estimates for better period forecasting. Fundamental characteristics such as activity rings, workout tracking, training load, cardio fitness and recovery, challenges, sharing, and trends are retained.
With watchOS 26, the SE 3 benefits from Workout Buddy, which offers spoken, personalised motivation powered by Apple Intelligence, a revamped Workout app featuring custom workouts, Pacer and Race Route options, and built-in capabilities to automatically start music or podcasts at the beginning of a session.
Siri on-device responds more quickly and can securely log or access Health data. The SE 3 also accommodates double tap and wrist flick gestures, Voice Isolation for clearer calls, and audio playback for music and podcasts directly from the watch.
Apple Watch for Your Kids allows parents to configure the SE 3 using their iPhone, enabling children to call, message, share their location via Find My, and access safety features such as Emergency SOS. Kids will have their own Apple Account and phone number, along with Activity goals, Memoji, Maps, and other fun features.
The Apple Watch SE 3 is available in 40 mm and 44 mm aluminium cases in midnight and starlight colours. Preordering begins today across over 50 markets, including India, with prices starting at ₹25,900.
