ChatGPT Productivity Features: A Game Changer for Enterprises

ChatGPT has unveiled a suite of new productivity-focused features, prominently featuring a record mode and broader integrations with cloud storage solutions. These updates reflect the company’s ambition to appeal to enterprise clients as competition in the AI sector intensifies.

Introducing Record Mode

The record mode empowers users to document and transcribe meetings, brainstorming sessions, and spontaneous ideas. This feature turns voice inputs into timestamped notes with actionable items and citations. Currently, this functionality is accessible to ChatGPT Team users, a paid subscription tier priced at approximately £25 (around ₹2,080) per user monthly, with an annual contract for teams of two or more.

Cloud Storage Integrations

In addition, ChatGPT now has the capability to access and process files from widely-used cloud storage platforms such as Google Drive, Dropbox, Box, SharePoint, and OneDrive. Users can inquire about past events, asking questions like “What was my company’s revenue in Q1 last year?” or “How many ferry rides did I take in Italy?” to receive structured answers complete with pertinent citations.

Respect for User Permissions

OpenAI noted that ChatGPT will systematically structure data while adhering to the existing user-level permissions of the documents, ensuring that citations are included, as outlined in a blog post.

Expansion for Business Plans

These new features are available to subscribers of ChatGPT Team, Enterprise, and the education-focused ChatGPT Edu plan. This latest initiative underscores OpenAI’s determined pursuit of enterprise clients, a segment where AI investments are considerably higher and long-term agreements are financially rewarding.

Notable Collaborations

Since the introduction of ChatGPT Enterprise in 2023, OpenAI has partnered with numerous companies such as Canva, Block, PwC, and Estée Lauder. The launch of ChatGPT Team in January 2024 has also created opportunities for smaller businesses and teams seeking scalable AI solutions.

Growing User Base

OpenAI now boasts over 3 million paying business users, a significant increase from 2 million only four months prior.
