Pixel 10: The New Era of Smartphones with Tensor G5 Chip
Google has unveiled the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL, representing the latest advancements in smartphones, all powered by the new Tensor G5 chip and the innovative Gemini Nano model. The company emphasises that this latest generation of devices offers the most personalised and helpful experience yet, thanks to the incorporation of AI features directly into the phones.
Design and Features of the Pixel 10 Family
The Pixel 10 family showcases a refreshed aesthetic with a polished camera bar, integration of Pixelsnap Qi2 wireless charging, and compatibility with new magnetic accessories. Sustainability plays a significant role, as Google has utilised more recycled materials than in its previous Pixel lines. Each device will be the first to utilise Material 3 Expressive, delivering fluid animations, seamless interactions, and extensive personalisation options.
Long-Term Support and Updates
All three devices are set to receive seven years of Pixel Drops, along with regular OS and security updates.
Display and Camera Innovations
The Pixel 10 is equipped with a 6.3-inch Actua display offering an impressive 3000 nits of brightness, enhancing visibility in bright sunlight. The device boasts improved audio quality and introduces a 5x telephoto lens, enabling rapid autofocus and up to 20x zoom through Super Res Zoom technology.
Tensor G5: Powering Advanced AI Experiences
Central to this new series is Tensor G5, Google’s most potent custom silicon to date. Developed in collaboration with DeepMind, this chip unlocks on-device generative AI capabilities. Among these is Magic Cue, an innovative feature that seamlessly integrates across applications like Google Messages and Phone to present relevant information in real-time. For instance, when users make a call to an airline, it can automatically retrieve flight details from their email and display this information throughout the conversation.
Enhanced Photography Features
The photography functionality gets a significant enhancement with Camera Coach, an AI-driven guide offering suggestions for improved framing and composition for novice photographers. The Pixel 10 Pro and 10 Pro XL also include Pro Res Zoom, granting up to 100x zoom capabilities, driven by Tensor G5, alongside an advanced generative imaging model that focuses on refining details rather than merely cropping images.
Pricing and Availability
Preorders for the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL are currently open, with starting prices of ₹79,999, ₹1,09,999, and ₹1,24,999 respectively. Additionally, purchasers of the Pro models will receive one year of Google AI Pro at no additional charge.
