Google Unveils Pixel Watch 4 and New Pixel Buds Enhancements

Google has introduced its most significant wearable update with the Pixel Watch 4, as well as the reveal of the Pixel Buds 2a and additional features for the Pixel Buds Pro 2. These new devices are crafted to boost health tracking, productivity, and entertainment, all while ensuring seamless integration with the broader Pixel ecosystem.

Pixel Watch 4: A Focus on Performance and Health

The Pixel Watch 4 debuts with a revamped domed Actua 360 display that boasts a 10 percent larger active area and 16 percent smaller bezels, resulting in an almost edgeless look. This screen reaches a peak brightness of 3000 nits, which makes it easier to view even under direct sunlight.

This wearable comes with enhanced haptics, a better speaker for richer sound quality, and introduces Gemini for immediate assistance on-the-go. It also maintains its unique feature of detecting pulse loss, positioning itself firmly as a health-centric smartwatch.

Battery life has seen enhancements, with the 41mm model providing 30 hours of use and the 45mm model offering 40 hours. With the Battery Saver feature, this extends to two days and three days respectively. A new Quick Charge Dock powers the watch to 50 percent battery in just 15 minutes.

Internally, the Pixel Watch 4 operates on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon W5 Gen 2 Wearable Platform, along with a machine learning co-processor that is 25 percent faster while using half the energy. The design incorporates aerospace-grade aluminium, Gorilla Glass protection, is water-resistant up to 50 metres, and for the first time, includes a replaceable battery and display.

Pricing remains consistent with last year’s models, with the 41mm version priced at ₹39,900 and the 45mm at ₹43,900.

Pixel Buds 2a: Affordable Active Noise Cancellation

The introduction of the Pixel Buds 2a marks an expansion in Google’s audio lineup as the first A-series model to feature Active Noise Cancellation. Powered by the Tensor A1 chip, they utilise Silent Seal 1.5 for optimised ANC performance.

Designed for comfort, the earbuds feature a twist-to-adjust stabiliser, four eartip options, and a lightweight structure. They also come with an IP54 rating for sweat and water resistance. Available in Iris and Hazel colours, the Buds 2a provide up to seven hours of listening time with ANC engaged, extending to 20 hours with the charging case. Listening time without ANC is doubled compared to the first-generation Pixel Buds A-series.

Retailing at ₹12,999, these earbuds also support hands-free Google Assistant access through Gemini.

Pixel Buds Pro 2: New Colour and Upcoming Features

The Pixel Buds Pro 2, initially launched last year with Tensor A1 and Gemini integration, will now be available in a new Moonstone colour to match the Pixel 10 series. Google has also announced that a software update enhancing features for the Buds Pro 2 is forthcoming.
