Google Acquires Wiz for Enhanced Cloud Security

Google has taken over the cloud and AI security platform Wiz in a transaction estimated at $32 billion. The tech powerhouse announced that Wiz will join Google Cloud while upholding its dedication to securing customers across various cloud settings. This agreement is reportedly happening after Wiz achieved over $1 billion in recurring revenue in 2025.

Additionally, the tech giant aims to attract enterprise customers managing systems across diverse cloud platforms.

Reports suggest that Google initially approached Wiz in 2024 with a $23 billion acquisition offer. However, the deal did not materialise as Wiz opted out of the proposal. Discussions resumed between the two companies in early 2025, ultimately culminating in a revised all-cash deal amounting to $32 billion, which exceeds the original offer by $9 billion.
