AI for All: Haptik’s Initiative for SMBs
Mumbai-based conversational AI company Haptik, which is a part of Reliance Jio Platforms, has introduced its “AI for All” initiative dedicated to delivering enterprise-level automation tailored for small and medium businesses (SMBs). These innovative AI agents are accessible via WhatsApp and come with a starting price of ₹10,000.
Automating Customer Interactions
The firm claims that these AI agents are capable of automating nearly 80 percent of customer inquiries, a statistic that improves as the system continues to learn. Initial users have reported experiencing a 20 to 25 percent rise in conversions from leads to sales within a period of six to twelve months, alongside a significant 30 to 40 percent decrease in their manual support expenses.
Real-World Applications of AI Agents
Ahshad Jussawalla, Haptik’s CEO, illustrated potential applications: a small clinic efficiently managing appointment bookings around the clock without the need for a receptionist; an educational institution providing instant responses to course-related queries, even when offices are closed; or a real estate agency offering real-time guidance to prospects and facilitating site visits effortlessly. He conveyed that with AI Agents, automation has been redefined to be easier, quicker, and more cost-effective than ever. Early users are already observing that up to 80 percent of their repetitive customer support inquiries are being resolved automatically, alongside a 20-25 percent increase in lead-to-sale conversions.
Supporting Diverse Languages
The AI agents can converse in 22 Indian languages, promoting vernacular interactions that enhance engagement beyond major metropolitan areas. Haptik asserted that its solution eradicates the risk of missed opportunities and support delays without necessitating extra staffing or IT costs.
Current User Base and Future Goals
More than 50,000 SMBs are presently utilising Haptik’s WhatsApp-centric CRM and automation platform, Interakt, which drives marketing strategies, sales funnels, and customer service. The company has set a target to onboard between 300,000 to 500,000 SMBs, representing approximately 1 percent of India’s SMB market, within the upcoming two years.
Industry Adoption
Businesses in sectors such as healthcare, retail, education, and real estate are already implementing Haptik’s AI agents. Aster Hospitals in the UAE have deployed multilingual AI agents for sending patient care reminders, while Pantheon Development utilises them for qualifying real estate leads.
Integration and Compliance
The AI agents are built on Haptik’s Agentic AI Platform, which integrates seamlessly with leading CRMs and backend systems, all while adhering to enterprise-grade compliance and data security measures.
Jussawalla further emphasised that AI transitions from being merely a technological layer to becoming a powerful growth driver when it is linked to tangible outcomes like Customer Satisfaction (CSAT), reduced churn rates, and lower costs per lead.
Haptik continues to cater to large enterprises including Jio, Cred, Ola, PVR, Adani, Unilever, and HP.
