Intel’s New Leadership in Government Affairs and Marketing
Intel has introduced three key appointments in leadership roles for government affairs, marketing and communications, and advanced technology strategy. Notably, the company welcomes Robin Colwell, a former advisor to Donald Trump, as the new leader of its government affairs division.
According to a statement from Intel’s newsroom, Colwell previously served as deputy assistant to President Donald Trump and functioned as a deputy director of the National Economic Council. In that capacity, she was instrumental in formulating policies for various sectors within the U.S. At Intel, her responsibilities will encompass overseeing the firm’s global interactions with policymakers, regulatory bodies, and industry leaders. Colwell’s office will be situated in Washington, D.C.
For Colwell, this position comes with significant importance as she will be handling trade regulations and rules both within the U.S. and internationally, while also fostering Intel’s connections with the President and the federal government. Lip-Bu Tan, the CEO of Intel, remarked that Colwell’s extensive experience and profound understanding of intricate legal and policy landscapes will greatly benefit Intel. He also mentioned that she possesses a unique ability to traverse fluctuating policy scenarios, achieving results advantageous for businesses, policymakers, and the communities they represent.
Alongside Colwell’s appointment, Intel has also announced that Annie Shea Weckesser will take on the role of senior vice president and chief marketing and communications officer (CMCO), while Pushkar Ranade will serve as the interim chief technology officer. Ranade will simultaneously retain his position as chief of staff to the CEO. These strategic appointments signal a significant transformation in Intel’s leadership, poised to redefine its strategic trajectory and enhance its executive team.
