Lenovo has joined forces with Dolby Laboratories and Google to unveil the Lenovo Chromebook Plus (14”, 10), the first Chromebook worldwide to incorporate Dolby Atmos technology.

The latest Chromebook model is crafted to elevate multimedia experiences through immersive, spatial audio. Dolby Atmos is designed to provide sound that envelops users in a three-dimensional auditory environment, enhancing the listening experience via headphones or the laptop’s built-in speakers.

Insights from Dolby Laboratories

Mahesh Balakrishnan, who serves as the Vice President and General Manager of Consumer Entertainment at Dolby Laboratories, commented on the popularity of Chromebooks for their user-friendly nature, affordability, and potential for creativity. He remarked that with Dolby Atmos now integrated into the Lenovo Chromebook Plus, immersive audio is being made available to a wider array of users.

Benny Zhang, the Executive Director and General Manager of Chromebooks at Lenovo, described the launch as a pivotal achievement in Lenovo’s partnership with Dolby. He noted the company’s dedication to introducing innovative experiences for consumers globally.

Google shared a similar viewpoint, with John Maletis, the VP of ChromeOS Product, stating that Dolby has been instrumental in enhancing audio experiences for users.
