Lenovo Unveils Major Commitment to Bolster AI Innovation in India at Tech World India 2025

Lenovo’s Commitment to AI Development in India

Lenovo has strengthened its dedication to India’s contribution to global AI innovation by revealing its plans to enhance AI-driven manufacturing, research and development (R&D), and enterprise solutions at Tech World India 2025. After two decades in the nation, Lenovo is focused on establishing India as a central hub for AI advancement and production, catering to both local and international markets. Matthew Zielinski, President of International Markets at Lenovo, stated that the company aims to leverage India as a core hub for AI.

Expanding AI Manufacturing and Infrastructure

Lenovo India has announced substantial growth in AI-related operations, reporting the production and export of 12 million units from January to December 2024. Furthermore, Lenovo plans to initiate the manufacturing of AI servers in India during this fiscal year, thereby boosting the country’s involvement in enterprise AI applications and cloud services.

In addition, Lenovo has launched its inaugural AI-ready personal computer under India’s Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) 2.0 policy, reinforcing the nation’s status as a significant player in the global electronics manufacturing industry.

Strengthening India’s AI Workforce and Business Growth

Employing over 14,000 individuals in India, Lenovo is committed to nurturing local talent and fostering inclusive AI development. More than 30% of the technical workforce in India is comprised of women, significantly contributing to R&D at Motorola, the Shared Support Centre, and the Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG) Innovation Labs.

The company is also harnessing AI-driven logistics to enhance customer service, allowing for four-hour deliveries across eight Indian markets. These undertakings reflect Lenovo’s emphasis on utilising AI to boost efficiency and enrich customer experiences.

AI Innovations Showcased at Tech World India 2025

The event, themed ‘Smarter AI for All,’ presented Lenovo’s AI-enhanced solutions aimed at propelling India’s digital transformation. Tech World India 2025 highlighted pioneering AI applications in intelligent devices, transparent displays, and gaming technology, along with vital discussions on responsible AI development and sustainability.

Attendees were introduced to the Lenovo AI Now platform, designed to elevate computing experiences. In addition, industry leaders discussed the role of AI in enhancing education, promoting sustainability, and nurturing engineering talent within India.

Lenovo’s Vision for India’s AI Future

Shailendra Katyal, Managing Director of Lenovo India, underscored the company’s commitment to AI-driven innovation, highlighting a remarkable 71% increase in year-on-year revenue during the first three quarters of the 2024-25 financial year. He pointed out Lenovo’s initiatives to bolster India’s AI ecosystem, affirming the company’s dedication to providing AI-powered solutions that facilitate significant transformation and support India’s leadership in AI development.
