Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5: Revolutionary AI Laptops Launched in India

Lenovo has introduced the IdeaPad Slim 5 in India, featuring two models: the 14-inch and the 16-inch, both designed with AMD’s latest Ryzen AI 300 Series ‘Kraken Point’ processors. These laptops are tailored to deliver exceptional AI-enhanced performance, improving multitasking capabilities and overall computing for professionals, students, and creators alike.

Specifications and Features

The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5 is equipped with AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 processors, making them the pioneering laptops that utilise this advanced chip. This processor boasts Zen 5 cores, AMD RDNA 3.5 graphics, and a sophisticated XDNA 2 Neural Processing Unit (NPU). Lenovo asserts that these processors can achieve up to 55 TOPS of AI processing power, significantly enhancing intelligent workload management and offering real-time improvements.

Vinay Sinha, Corporate Vice President at AMD India, noted that with the upgraded AMD XDNA 2 NPU capable of delivering over 50 TOPS, the device enables more intelligent computing, efficient power usage, and effortless multitasking.

Both laptop models feature stunning OLED displays, with the 16-inch variant providing a remarkable 2.8K resolution, 100% DCI-P3 colour accuracy, and brightness reaching up to 500 nits. Meanwhile, the 14-inch model is equipped with a WUXGA OLED display that features a 120Hz refresh rate, enhancing the visual experience for both work and entertainment.

The IdeaPad Slim 5 laptops maintain a sleek profile at just 16.9mm thick and are available in striking Luna Grey and Cosmic Blue hues. Lenovo promises military-grade durability, ensuring greater portability for users. The devices are powered by a 60Whr battery that supports Rapid Charge Boost, claiming to deliver prolonged battery life rapidly after just a few minutes of charging.

AI and Software Enhancements

Lenovo has incorporated its AI assistant, Lenovo AI Now, into select configurations of the IdeaPad Slim 5. This assistant, built on Meta’s Llama 3 model, is capable of conducting Q&A sessions based on the information stored by the user.

For enhanced security features, the IdeaPad Slim 5 includes an FHD IR camera that supports Windows Hello Smart Login, a physical privacy shutter, and AI-driven noise cancellation technology.

Customisation and Availability

Lenovo provides a ‘Custom to Order’ (CTO) option, allowing users to tailor their configurations, including the choice of processor and storage. Delivery is anticipated within 25 days of placing an order. Additionally, the devices come with Lenovo Premium Care for comprehensive hardware and software support.
