AI-Powered Ray-Ban Smart Glasses

AI-powered Ray-Ban smart glasses have been introduced by Meta, tailored for everyday wear. These smart glasses are particularly advantageous for those who require prescription lenses, making them more practical and accessible. This launch illustrates Meta’s broader ambition to evolve its tech-centric eyewear into a multifunctional optical accessory.

Stylish and Functional Glasses

The prescription glasses will be accessible in two varieties: Ray-Ban Meta Blayzer Optics (Gen 2) and Ray-Ban Meta Scriber Optics (Gen 2). Two frame designs are on offer: the Blayzer Optics and Scriber Optics. Customers can select from various lens types, including single-vision lenses, progressive lenses, or transition lenses.

Adaptable Features

Meta asserts that these glasses can adjust to any specific face shape. They boast overextension hinges that provide an extra 10-degree rotation, interchangeable nose pads, and temple tips that can be adjusted by an optician to ensure a perfect fit.

Smart Technology Integrations

The Ray-Ban Meta Scriber Optics offers smart features similar to its counterpart, including a 12MP camera for capturing photos and videos up to 3K resolution. Additionally, it is equipped with a six-microphone array for clear calling and includes an action button to trigger Meta AI for answering questions.

Pricing and Availability

The Ray-Ban Meta Blayzer Optics (Gen 2) and Ray-Ban Meta Scriber Optics (Gen 2) are available at a price of $499 (approximately Rs. 41,500) in the US. They will be launched in select regions, including the UK, Canada, Australia, Europe, and the UAE, starting from April 14.

New Meta AI Features for Smart Glasses

In conjunction with the new Ray-Ban Meta Optics glasses, Meta has unveiled additional features and capabilities of its AI in an upcoming software update. The announcement revealed a new nutrition tracking function, enabling users to either voice prompt or take a quick image to log their meals.

Enhanced Nutrition Tracking

Meta explained that Meta AI will identify key nutritional information and incorporate it into the user’s food log within the Meta AI app. Over time, this food log will offer personalized insights that become increasingly valuable, assisting users in making healthier and more informed dietary decisions.

Hands-Free User Experience

Moreover, Meta is introducing hands-free WhatsApp summaries, which will provide users with brief recaps of conversations or details exchanged within the app. This function will initially be accessible through the Early Access Program (EAP) for Ray-Ban Meta, Oakley Meta, and Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses.

Neural Handwriting Feature

Additionally, the Neural Handwriting feature will enable users to write on any surface using their fingers for silent message replies. This feature will be compatible across platforms such as Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger, and native messaging services on Android and iOS.
