Netflix Games Update: Significant Changes Coming in July
Netflix is set to remove a considerable selection of mobile games from its subscription-based gaming service next month. A total of 22 titles will be taken off Netflix Games, with Hades being the first to go on 2 July, followed by the remaining titles on 15 July in India.
This alteration reduces the size of the Netflix Games library, which currently features over 120 ad-free mobile games accessible to Netflix subscribers on iOS, iPadOS, and Android devices.
The information was first highlighted by What’s on Netflix and later confirmed directly through the Netflix app, where the affected games now show a ‘Leaving Soon’ label.

Netflix’s Statement on Game Changes
In a statement to Variety, Netflix mentioned that, similar to their films and series, games will periodically enter and exit the service.
About Hades and Its Significance
Hades, a renowned roguelike action game developed by Supergiant Games, was added to Netflix Games in March last year on iOS following its initial 2020 release on Nintendo Switch, PC, and Mac, with subsequent launches on PlayStation and Xbox in 2021. Its early removal could indicate potential licensing issues or strategic changes within Netflix’s gaming lineup.
Performance of Netflix Games
Although Netflix Games has introduced popular titles like Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition and Hades, its overall performance has been mixed. Reports indicate that the GTA trilogy achieved over 30 million downloads, but performance metrics on other games remain unclear.
Additionally, Netflix previously shut down one of its in-house game studios, Blue, in October 2024. This studio was reportedly in the process of developing an original game, which was ultimately cancelled as part of a wider review of Netflix’s gaming goals.
