Big Billion Days Sale Controversy – Flipkart

Big Billion Days sale by Flipkart, which began for Black and Plus members on September 22 and opened to all users on September 23, has encountered controversy as numerous customers reported unexpected cancellations of their iPhone orders despite completing payments.

This situation has led to significant backlash on social media, with some users dubbing the event a “Big Billion Scam.” The iPhone 16 Pro is currently out of stock, while select iPhone 16 256GB models remain accessible at Rs 64,999.

Flipkart had advertised substantial discounts on Apple’s newest models, featuring the iPhone 16 128GB variant at Rs 51,999 (reduced from Rs 69,999) and the iPhone 16 Pro priced between Rs 69,999 and Rs 75,999, based on the variant. Such offers generated considerable excitement, prompting many customers to consider older models over the recent iPhone 17 due to the attractive pricing.

However, shortly after the sale commenced, social media became inundated with posts displaying confirmations of cancelled orders. A multitude of customers reported their orders being cancelled under the premise of “payment failure,” even after their transactions had been successfully completed. Others pointed out that prices reverted swiftly to their original amounts, returning the iPhone 16 to Rs 69,999.
