Phone (3) by Nothing: A Flagship Smartphone Made in India
Phone (3) is the latest offering from London-based technology company Nothing, which is being hailed as its first true flagship smartphone. The production of Phone (3) will take place in India, underscoring the brand’s dedication to the Indian market while supporting the government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative.
Manufacturing Excellence in Chennai
The Phone (3) will be manufactured at Nothing’s facility in Chennai, which currently employs over 500 individuals, with an impressive 95 percent of them being women. This localisation of manufacturing is strategically aimed at enhancing supply chain efficiency, minimising lead times, and allowing swift responses to market demands.
Commitment to the Indian Market
According to Akis Evangelidis, Co-Founder and India President, India has played a vital role in the company’s journey right from the start. He noted that every smartphone produced by Nothing has been manufactured in India, and the Phone (3) will proudly add to that history. He expressed excitement about the continued investment in local manufacturing, talent, and innovation, which is fully in sync with the Make in India vision. The Phone (3) signifies a significant milestone: the introduction of a true flagship that showcases the finest features of Nothing. The team is eagerly anticipating the opportunity for Indian users to experience this new device.
Expanding Customer Support
In addition to manufacturing efforts, Nothing is also enhancing its customer support infrastructure throughout India. The company operates five exclusive service centres located in Bengaluru, Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Chennai. With over 330 authorised service points and 20 priority desks, this number is expected to increase shortly. On the retail side, Nothing has successfully expanded its offline presence from 2,000 to 10,000 stores in just one year.
Global Manufacturing Hub
The Phone (3), designed in London and built in India, embodies Nothing’s growing trust in India’s potential as a global manufacturing hub. The company has already achieved sales of over 10 million devices, encompassing audio products, smartphones, and wearables, under the Nothing and CMF by Nothing brands, generating a cumulative revenue of $1 billion.
