OnePlus 15 Launch: Sand Storm Edition with Revolutionary Features

OnePlus has officially announced the introduction of the OnePlus 15, its upcoming flagship smartphone, making its debut globally in a distinctive dune-inspired “Sand Storm” edition. This model will feature aerospace-grade Micro-Arc Oxidation (MAO) technology on both the middle frame and camera module, marking a first in the smartphone sector.

Innovative Sand Storm Design

The Sand Storm aesthetic is inspired by desert terrains and merges durability with a minimalist approach. OnePlus stated that the MAO method employs high-voltage plasma to develop a ceramic coating directly on the metal frame, resulting in a material that is 3.4 times stronger than aluminium and 1.3 times tougher than titanium. To enhance the mid-frame, the design includes a lightweight fibreglass back, offering a combination of ceramic coolness and a smooth, comfortable grip.

Performance Enhancements in the OnePlus 15

In terms of performance, the OnePlus 15 will be equipped with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform, paired with an updated cooling system designed to sustain optimal performance. The brand will unveil additional specifications as the launch date approaches.

Launch Timings and Expectations

As per various reports and speculations, the OnePlus 15 is anticipated to launch in China on 27 October 2025, with global and Indian releases expected in early 2026. Additionally, the smartphone is rumoured to feature a revamped camera module alongside the “Plus” key, previously seen on the OnePlus 13s and Nord 5, enabling users to customise various shortcut functions.

Pricing Insights

Industry forecasts suggest that the OnePlus 15 could be positioned in the price range of ₹70,000 to ₹75,000 in India, maintaining a similar price point to its predecessor, the OnePlus 13.
