Snapdragon Summit 2025: Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 Launch

Snapdragon Summit 2025 has been officially confirmed by Qualcomm for 23 to 25 September in Hawaii, occurring nearly a month earlier than the previous year’s gathering, as reported by Notebook Check. This announcement, made during the company’s keynote at Computex 2025, indicates the likely introduction of the eagerly awaited Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset, along with new processors intended for Windows laptops.

Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 Features and Expectations

The Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 is anticipated to offer significant performance enhancements compared to its predecessor. Speculations suggest that it will maintain a 6+2 CPU core configuration, yet will include a more robust Adreno 840 GPU, promising up to 30% faster graphics performance along with a 26% increase in AnTuTu scores. Moreover, some reports indicate it could support LPDDR6 RAM and feature upgraded Pegasus CPU cores, potentially clocked at speeds nearing 5GHz. These enhancements are believed to result from Qualcomm’s utilization of Arm v9 architecture, innovative Nuvia-designed CPU cores, and TSMC’s cutting-edge N3P node technology.

Additional Snapdragon Innovations for Windows Laptops

In addition to the mobile System on Chip (SoC), Qualcomm is also set to present the Snapdragon X Elite 2, also known as the Snapdragon X2 Elite, which is the next-generation chip designed specifically for Windows laptops. However, there are some speculations indicating that this chip may not debut until 2026, possibly aimed at devices within Microsoft’s Surface lineup.

Smartphone Launches Powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite 2

Smartphones utilizing the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset are anticipated to begin launching in October 2025, with initial adopters expected to include manufacturers such as Xiaomi, OnePlus, Realme, and Motorola.

Qualcomm has been consistently moving its launch schedule earlier since the introduction of the Snapdragon 888, and the September event further highlights the company’s commitment to staying at the forefront of both mobile and PC silicon advancements.
