Revamping Retail: Google Enhances Gemini App with AI and Search Innovations

AI-Powered Shopping Upgrades

AI-Powered Shopping Upgrades from Google

AI-powered shopping upgrades are now being rolled out by Google across its various services, particularly the Gemini app, AI Mode, and Circle to Search. A significant feature of this upgrade is the integration of Gemini AI models with the Shopping Graph, which boasts an extensive database comprising 50 billion products and updates approximately 2 billion items hourly.

Shopping Made Easy with the Gemini App

The Gemini app introduces a new shopping functionality that allows users to collaborate on outfit ideas, create gift lists, or browse products within a single chat interface. Furthermore, the app facilitates product listings, comparisons, pricing information from multiple sources, and online purchases. This shopping feature is powered by Google’s Shopping Graph and is accessible in both English and Hindi.

Conversational Shopping Experience in AI Mode

Google is enhancing the shopping experience in AI Mode within Search in India with what it describes as its most significant upgrade to date. When users pose shopping-related queries, AI Mode aims to deliver a “well-structured response” that aggregates visuals, prices, reviews, and real-time inventory data all in one location. This capability will also be available in English and Hindi.

Smart Enhancements for Circle to Search

Advanced features for Circle to Search have been introduced on the Pixel 10 and Samsung Galaxy S26 models. Users can now conduct searches for multiple items within a single image simultaneously.

For instance, suppose someone comes across a stylish outfit on social media and wishes to recreate the look. They can search for every item—from tops to shoes—all at once. By simply tapping, sketching, or circling the entire outfit, users can easily break down the look into its individual components, as highlighted in a blog post from Google.
