Instamart New Year’s Eve Shopping Insights

According to the Instamart New Year’s Eve statistics, grapes emerged as the standout item this year. This fruit registered 235,000 searches by 5 AM and astonishingly increased by 78 times by evening. This surge was attributed to a growing number of people following a Spanish custom of consuming 12 grapes at midnight for good fortune.

Furthermore, various Tier 2 cities, such as Lonavala, Karimnagar, Saharanpur, Davanagere, Patiala, and Meerut, turned to Instamart for their last-minute requirements. One remarkable order consisted of over 200 items in a single day, which notably included 108 packs of Kurkure.

Additionally, a customer from Patiala made an order of gold coins valued at Rs 6 lakh, while someone from Mumbai gifted gold amounting to Rs 1.45 lakh. In Bangalore, another individual purchased two iPhones costing Rs 1.8 lakh. The insights also highlighted interesting trends, such as Tonic Water being a popular beverage nationwide, barbecue items being favoured in Pune and Kolkata, and significant increases in orders for cakes, pizza bases, and various drinks on New Year’s Eve.

In celebration of its loyal clientele, Instamart recognised one exceptional customer, who earned the title of “Instamart’s MVP customer.” This individual placed a staggering 4,548 orders throughout 2025, which included over 15 orders specifically made on New Year’s Eve.
