Apple’s significant leadership transformation marks its first in 15 years, as CEO Tim Cook is set to depart on September 1, 2026. Veteran Apple executive John Ternus will take the helm for the next decade and has a variety of initiatives ready to roll out. Reports indicate that the Cupertino-based tech giant has plans for 10 new product categories, all anticipated to be introduced during Ternus’s tenure.
Apple’s First Foldable iPhone
As Apple prepares to dive into this ambitious product line, the anticipated iPhone Fold is expected to showcase remarkable innovation and is likely to captivate many Apple enthusiasts. A Bloomberg report emphasises that Ternus has played a pivotal role in the engineering and development of the foldable iPhone, positioning him as the ideal leader to usher in Apple’s foldable era.
The iPhone Fold is expected to feature four significant selling points: durability, exceptional performance, a less noticeable display crease, and a horizontal screen (when unfolded) that resembles an iPad. However, it may come with a price tag around $2,000 or possibly more.
Apple’s New Product Categories to Launch Under John Ternus
In addition to the foldable device, Apple is allegedly exploring AI-enhanced smart home products, including a screen-equipped HomePod that may serve as a smart home assistant. This product is expected to be centred around Siri and equipped with functionalities such as a proprietary operating system, FaceTime, and facial recognition technology. Other possibilities in this category may include a tabletop robot and a security device akin to Google Nest.
The company is also reportedly developing AI-sophisticated wearable cameras, including intelligent glasses similar to Meta’s Ray-Ban, AI AirPods featuring a built-in camera, and smart pendants. Future product launches may also include touchscreen MacBooks, Augmented Reality (AR) glasses, and a foldable iPad.
