ChatGPT Pro Plan: New Features and Pricing Revealed

ChatGPT has rolled out a fresh Pro subscription plan that offers advanced features, including significantly increased usage limits for Codex, intensifying its competition with Claude Code from Anthropic. OpenAI made this announcement via a post on X, detailing enhancements to the ChatGPT Plus and Pro subscriptions to cater to the rising demands for Codex.

This update comes as OpenAI celebrates reaching 3 million weekly users on Codex. Additionally, the user limits for the coding tool have been reset, enabling developers to tackle intricate coding assignments with enhanced capacity. Here’s all the essential information regarding the new ChatGPT Pro plan.

ChatGPT Pro Plan: Pricing and Features

The newly launched ChatGPT Pro plan is priced at $100 each month in the United States. This pricing serves as an economical choice situated between the ChatGPT Plus plan, priced at $20 monthly, and the existing Pro plan at $200 monthly. However, there is no mention of the $200 plan on OpenAI’s website, though it appears to still be available according to TechCrunch.

With the new ChatGPT Pro plan, users benefit from five times the usage of its coding agent tool, Codex, compared to the Plus plan. Additional features comprise professional reasoning capabilities with GPT 5.4 Pro, unlimited GPT 5.3 usage with file uploads, unlimited and accelerated image generation, advanced deep research, and agent modes, alongside memory and context functionalities, research previews, and more.

It is important to highlight that the ChatGPT Go and Plus subscriptions do not offer unlimited usage. On the other hand, the $200 plan provides unlimited access with usage limits 20 times higher than that of Plus. OpenAI asserts that it accommodates “the most demanding workflows consistently, even for parallel projects.” Hence, both Pro plans present advanced AI features and tools, though the user limits differ.

Codex lead Thibault ‘Tibo’ Sottiaux announced on X that, “This should be the sweet spot for many users.”

Updates to the ChatGPT Plus Plan

Alongside the new ChatGPT Pro subscription, OpenAI has made adjustments to the ChatGPT Plus plan, which includes modified limits for some features. The temporary additional access to Codex for Plus users is coming to an end, meaning users may now experience reduced usage limits compared to before. This change may motivate users to transition to the new ChatGPT Pro plan.
